Yes, it’s that time of the year again.

Our annual champs will take place from 12 May, with the finals on the weekend of 9 & 10 June. We are looking forward to a big entry so please send me you entries as soon as possible. The closing date for entries is Wednesday 2 May (the day after the public holiday).

Please send me your entry via email, and familiarize yourself with the tournament rules. If there are any days which you are not available to play, please let me know when you send your entry in.

I would specifically like to draw your attention to Rule 5 which will ensure that we complete the Champs within the allotted 5 weeks:

5. No match shall be rescheduled or cancelled once the programme is finalised unless inclement weather conditions prevail. If you are unable to play your match as scheduled, you may arrange to play your opposition at another time, so long as opposition agrees; the match is completed before the next round is scheduled; and the Tournament Secretary is advised of the delay.

Welcome to 2012, we trust the new year has started well for you.

Social tennis is back, so we expect to see you down on Saturday to work off some of the holiday cheer that may have accumulated around the waist.

Secondly, find attached the entry form for the handicap championships. The dates planned for the champs are: starting Sat 25 Feb and having the finals on the weekend of 17 & 18 March (4 weeks). The handicap events are always good fun, so please complete and return the form to me as soon as possible.

The four resurfaced courts are looking fantastic. Thanks to all who were involved, I'm sure you will enjoy playing on them

You will hopefully have noticed that we have upgraded the floodlights on Courts 3 & 4. These lights are whiter, brighter and need to be replaced less often. Please feel free to make use of the lights as we have endeavoured to not increase the hourly rates.

If you are keen on playing tennis at Rivonia TC you are welcome to join as a member (please see the membership categories in the Membership Blog) or you can hire a court and pay visitors fees. The courts are available all week except for Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings, when the courts are reserved for members social tennis and leagues. Floodlights are also available at an hourly rate if you are keen on playing in the evenings.

Visitors Fees    R30 per person (Supply own balls)

Full Senior Membership:

Saturday & Sunday organised social tennis, leagues & championships.

Adequate level of play required to join.

Student Membership:

Scholars & University students who qualify for Full Membership.

R 1,080.00 per person

Wednesday Morning Ladies:

R 1,210.00 per person

Weekday Membership:

Monday to Friday, day or night & Sunday Afternoons ONLY
